Dress Your Bed- Part 2
Comments Off on Dress Your Bed- Part 2

This week’s post will explore the different ways of arranging your bedding. Whether you prefer a duvet cover, quilt, coverlet, blanket, or a combination of these, there are different ways to layer and arrange what you have to be aesthetically pleasing and, most importantly, comfortable.

Before we get started, the article below lays out the differentiation between the different types of bedding (sometimes we all need a refresher!):

Let’s take a look at some of our go-to bedding arrangement options:

First, and probably the option we use the most, is the combination of a folded duvet cover and a coverlet.

Here are some examples:opt1-2

This type of bedding arrangement adds a very nice layering aesthetic to the bed, and makes personalization very easy because of all the different components involved.

A much simpler alternative is to just purchase a nice duvet cover and pull it all the way up over your bed. For added warmth, add a blanket underneath, and for added style, add a throw at the bottom of the bed.

The same goes for quilts and coverlets- pull your quilt or coverlet up all the way, then add a throw or a blanket at the end for a little extra color and pattern:

You could also add a contrasting fitted/flat sheet to give even more visual appeal to your bedding without adding any extra weight.

Mix and match these style options to personalize your bedding, then top it off with one of the pillow arrangements from our previous post 🙂

Stop by the shop and let us help you put together your perfect bed!

Dress Your Bed- Part 1

We often get questions from clients and customers about different ways to dress a bed, so, in the next couple of weeks, we’ll be exploring some different options for bedding arrangements! This week’s theme: pillow placement.

Let’s start off by saying that there’s no one right way to arrange the pillows on your bed. Some people like the aesthetic and feeling of a lot of pillows around them, while others prefer to just have the basics. These are just a few suggestions that we feel will work for you no matter what your style is.

We’ve also included some pictures of pillow arrangements we’ve done, both for clients and on our display beds in the shop. Take a look:

We hope this is helpful! Check back next week for more tips on dressing your bed. Have a good weekend! 🙂

Get to Know: Eskayel

Happy Friday! We thought we’d end the week with a ‘Get to Know’ post on one of our favorite textile/wallpaper collections: Eskayel. The company was founded by Shanan Campanaro in 2008 behind the belief that your home should be both comfortable and an expression of yourself. Their mix of abstract and geometric designs (that are like no other) and their focus on environmentally responsible products and business practices are what makes this company so unique.

Although wallpaper and fabric are the main components of their business, they’ve introduced other home decor and accessory products such as pillows, poufs, rugs, bedding, prints, baskets, phone cases, stationary, and, most recently, beach towels.  Take a look!

Here are a couple of examples of their installed wallpaper…Swoon.

But wait, there’s more! Eskayel has done furniture collaborations with ABC Home and Dane Co. and they are show-stoppers. The arm chair and ottoman on the left are from ABC Home, and the chair on the right is from Dane Co.

If you’re interested in any of the products above, or want to see more of what they have to offer, check out Eskayel’s website (www.eskayel.com), or come by and we can order for you in the shop- we have fabric and wallpaper samples for you to take a look at before ordering.

Also, be sure to check out Design Sponge’s interview with founder Shanan Campanaro to learn more. It’s a great listen!

We hope you have a great weekend 🙂
