Nursery Reveal + Items We Love
Comments Off on Nursery Reveal + Items We Love

We get so excited when we have the opportunity to design nurseries for expecting parents. It’s such a special time in their lives and we love being a part of it!  We recently got finished with a nursery for a sweet couple who were about to have a little girl. The pictures from the install are back and we wanted to share a couple with you!

The use of neutrals, hot pinks, blues and touches of gold makes for a fun, feminine space. For a room that you’ll be spending so much time in, it’s important to make it comfortable and filled with the functional necessities that you’ll use on a daily basis- we try to make these necessities as pleasing to the eye as possible! Take a look below at a few of our favorite items to use when creating a nursery:

Dash & Albert Indoor/Outdoor Rugs

We can’t rave enough about these rugs- their durability, easy cleanup, and cute patterns/colors make them the perfect choice for a nursery!

Pehr Bins

If you frequent the blog or the store, you’ve already heard of Pehr and their stylishly functional products. These bins are available in different sizes and patterns, and are perfect for housing anything from toys to diapers to blankets. They make organizing a nursery so easy, and it’s easy to find the perfect pattern to match your room.

Cute Pillows

We especially love these elephant pillows from John Robshaw- great for a girl or boy’s room!

As we said before, comfort in a nursery is key, and that’s where Lands Down Under throws come in. They’re super soft and come in a variety of colors and patterns!

When you don’t want the harsh brightness of an overhead light, lamps are a great alternative. They provide soft light for those late nights up with baby. Add a touch of color with these lamps from Jana Bek! (available in the shop)

Acrylic Ledges

We love the versatility of these ledges; since they’re acrylic, they go with everything! These are great for propping up story books and artwork in your nursery.

What items are a must-have in your nursery? Let us know in the comments!

Home Tour: Meredith Jackson

We are so excited to share our first home tour with you here on Isabella Studio! Meredith Jackson is a talented jewelry designer who has a working studio and shop upstairs in the Villa here in Charlotte (where we are also located). Not only do we adore her jewelry and her shop, she’s one of our dearest friends, too.

Meredith has impeccable taste and it clearly shows when visiting her Uptown loft. It’s the perfect mix of casual yet sophisticated and elegant yet approachable – which is very much like the style of her jewelry!

Right when you walk into Meredith’s loft, you are hit with this hot pink wall.. so cool!

The first time I walked into Meredith’s loft, I felt like I was in a movie – it’s such a unique space and impeccably decorated. Sometimes lofts can feel too open and cold, but Meredith’s loft is so inviting and cozy. It especially feels this way at night when it’s dark outside and all the lights are on (which is why we decided to take these home tour pictures in the evening).

Living Room

I love how she mixes traditional pieces like her English rolled arm sofa with more funky pieces like the metallic lavender snakeskin benches.

Living Room2

Scattered throughout her home are beautiful pieces of artwork like in the picture below.

Meredith has the most AMAZING collection of jewelry (rightfully so, she created almost all of it!), as seen in her bedroom.

If you see us girls at Isabella, we’re almost always wearing Meredith’s jewelry. And we love that Meredith also has Isabella bedding on her bed! The shams, round Ann Gish pillow and Kantha throw below were purchased at Isabella.

And of course I had to include some close up shots of her amazing jewelry collection!

Meredith’s jewelry design really mimics the style she has going on in her home – you can tell she creates her jewelry from the heart. Here are some of our current favorites:

[1] Vintage Turquoise Afghan Pendant Necklace – $200  [2] Delicate Natural Stone Bracelets – $75 each  [3] Tear Drop Lapis and Gold Hoop Earrings  – $175  [4]  Gold Chain and Smokey Quartz Charm Bracelet – $250  [5] Long Paper Clip Gold Chain Necklace – $175, Gold Textured Pendant Necklace – $135, Turquoise and Gold Chain Necklace – $285  [6] Tourmalinated Quartz and Gold Hoop Earrings – $120  [7] Gold Tassel on Red Cord Necklace – $185

An Isabella Customer’s Home Tour

We love our “regulars”; customers who come in often and who we get to know on a personal level. Barbara is one of our favorite customers and she always brightens our day when she comes to visit. She has amazing taste, especially when it comes to art! (She majored in Art History).

We were sad to hear the news that Barbara and her husband were moving to Austin to be closer to family, but we had a wonderful time visiting Barbara in her home to celebrate the new chapter in her life. While we were there, we snapped some pictures of her beautiful home!

We worked with Barbara on her bedding in both her master bedroom and guest bedroom.

It was such a pleasure visiting this beautiful home and spotting pieces from Isabella 🙂 Barbara, you’ll be missed!!

Well, we finally got around to taking photos of a design project from a while back! This client is a good friend of mine. He  called me and was interested in making some updates to his bachelor pad. We selected new paint colors for the entire house,  updated furniture, lighting, pillows, and bedding. We added modern elements and clean lines, while incorporating some existing antiques and artwork. Take a look…

I should also note, as soon as we finished up with this project, our client met the woman of his dreams and they were recently married!

The room below used to be a formal dining room that was rarely used. We created a sitting area/music room. The corner cabinet was a basic white cabinet from Pottery Barn. By adding mirrors to the shelves and changing the  hardware, we completely updated the look of this piece.

We had two custom floating nightstands made for the Master Bedroom, updated the linens, lighting and paint color.

Let us know if you need help with any design projects!

Home Tour

Helen has been a client of Isabella for 8 years and has also become a dear friend. She has the best sense of style and her home is one of our favorites. She has decorated her home all on her own without the help of a designer, which is surprising because it’s absolutely magazine worthy!

Helen was gracious enough to invite us into her home and let us take pictures for our blog to share with you. She’s purchased a number of items from Isabella; we’ll be sure to point out which ones!

As you enter her home, a beautiful grasscloth entry is there to greet you. We love all of the black doors throughout her home. IMG_6349

Off of the entry is a cozy den in high gloss black with orange accents.

Helen purchased the coffee table base and the end tables in this room from Isabella.

The dark, moody walls continue into the dining room.

You really can’t go wrong with these classic Visual Comfort sconces (below), available through Isabella.

In contrast to the dark den and dining room, the living room is bright and airy.

The red pillows are from Isabella and are by Dwell Studio.

Helen is the queen of accessorizing!

The Lotus chandelier and damask wallpaper from Isabella looks great in the guest bath!

Helen’s bedrooms are neutral and sophisticated.. just the way we like them!

The bedroom below features bedding from some of our top selling bedding companies, NC Souther and Ann Gish.

And last but definitely not least, her beautiful Master Bedroom featuring a custom Isabella headboard!

Again, thank you SO much to our wonderful customer and friend Helen for letting us take pictures of her beautiful home!
